John Roughton, a native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, graduated from Old Dominion University in 1985 and from Rhema Bible College in 1987. He first traveled to India in 1989 where he met Zhepitoli Zhimomi, who was a student at Calcutta Bible College at the time. John and Zhepi were married in America and later returned to India in 1994 to reside in her home state of Nagaland. They established Spirit of Faith Church in the city Dimapur that same year and Spirit of Faith Bible School in 2006. John has also ministered in Hungary, England, Japan, Haiti, (erstwhile) Czechoslovakia, Canada, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, and Bhutan. He continues to travel throughout America and in other nations as the Lord directs him. In his ministry he emphasizes teaching the Word and flowing in the Spirit.
